The Storm Is Majestic
As I stared out my window early one morning, I could hear the distant rumblings and the sharp flashes of light as last nights storm was slowly breaking way to Gods beautiful sunrise painted sky. God started to whisper, of storms past and future, as I watched in reverent wonder . . .
Powerful, and life changing to watch in awe at the sheer power of it all, and always messy, cold, distressing to be walking through. We don’t know when the rains will cease. When the crashing waves and lightning will calm, but as always, just as the rainbow of Gods promise solidified so long ago, the rains WILL stop. The skies will shine with His miraculous Light, glimpsing through the slowly separating storm clouds, the birds will begin to sing, and all of life will begin thanking God for the life-giving rains. Rains that brought water to drink, caused crops to grow, food for the birds and animals to come out of hiding, a new layer of the dirt and freshly layered spring pollen covered the earth to be washed away. A refreshing, strengthening and a clean new outlook and opportunity-filled perspective on life. Having been weathered and strengthened with the knowledge that this storm too shall pass, and the sun will shine, more radiantly than ever before, once again.
Psalm 107:28-30 Amplified Bible (AMP)
28 Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and He brought them out of their distresses. 29 He hushed the storm to a gentle whisper, so that the waves of the sea were still. 30 Then they were glad because of the calm, and He guided them to their desired haven (harbor).
The storms that we walk through in life are fierce, and some even painful, but within that pain is a beautiful purpose that we will only realize in the far distant future. So let’s hold tight to the promise that God gives - that have the gift of crying out to Him during our trouble, and He WILL bring us out of our distresses and use those storms for our good.
No matter what you are walking through today, I want you to know that you are not walking alone. Jesus is with you every step of the way and is waiting for you to lean on Him, to ask for His help to bring you through it all.
