Reading
James 4:13–15; Proverbs 16:3 (NLT)
Scriptural Thought
Planning isn’t the problem—planning without God is. James reminds us that faith doesn’t remove responsibility, but it does require dependence.
Reflection
We often plan as if tomorrow is guaranteed. James challenges that mindset by reminding us that every plan should be surrendered to God. When we plan without prayer, we begin trusting ourselves more than Him.
True faith says, “If the Lord wills.” Not as a phrase, but as a posture of the heart.
3-Step Application
Review your current plans and goals.
Ask God where you may have moved ahead without Him.
Surrender those plans back to God in prayer.
Closing Prayer
God, I commit my plans to You today. Teach me to trust Your timing and Your direction. Help me surrender control and walk in faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
