Reading: Matthew 18:15-17 Devotional: In a world where misunderstandings and offenses are inevitable, Jesus provides a clear process for addressing conflicts within the community of believers. Today, consider the importance of going to a fellow believer in private when they have wronged you. Reflect on the courage and humility it takes to approach someone directly rather than talking about the issue behind their back.
Questions for Reflection:
Have I recently experienced conflict that I need to address according to Jesus' instruction?
What fears or hesitations do I have about approaching someone privately, and how can I overcome them?
In what ways can I prepare my heart to seek reconciliation and understanding?
I’m a few days late, I’m trying to catch up 😀 I like the fact that Jesus is encouraging to address the conflict and not run or stuff or hide it. It takes lots of courage (and a right heart) to address issues that are challenging one on one. And having the willingness to either reconcile which would be ideal but doesn’t always happen.
What does it mean when it says if the person doesn’t heed to correction treat him like a pagan or a tax collector?
