Reading
Matthew 24:6 (NLT)
“And you will hear of wars and threats of wars, but don’t panic. Yes, these things must take place, but the end won’t follow immediately.”
Scriptural Thought
Jesus doesn’t deny the chaos—He redefines how His followers respond to it. The presence of turmoil is not a signal to panic but a reminder to trust.
Reflection
It’s easy to mistake global unrest for personal doom. News cycles thrive on urgency, fear, and speculation. Jesus, however, offers a calmer perspective. He doesn’t say, “Ignore what’s happening,” but He does say, “Don’t panic.” Fear narrows our vision. It pushes us to react instead of remain rooted. Jesus wants His people to be informed—but not controlled—by what they see happening around them.
Ask yourself honestly:
Are there headlines or situations causing anxiety in your heart right now?
Are those fears pulling you closer to God or pushing you toward worry and distraction?
Jesus calls us to live alert, not alarmed.
3-Step Application
Identify one situation that has been stirring fear or anxiety.
Release it to God in prayer instead of replaying it in your mind.
Refocus on what Jesus has already promised—His presence and faithfulness.
Closing Prayer
Lord, You see the chaos of this world, and You see my heart. Help me to trust You when things feel uncertain. Calm my spirit and anchor me in Your truth. Teach me to live with faith instead of fear. In Jesus' name, Amen.
