Devotional Thought

“Legion.” That word alone can sound overwhelming.

It’s meant to. That’s how intimidation works—it tries to overwhelm you with numbers.

Too many problems. Too many setbacks. Too many failures. Too many unanswered prayers.

Maybe you’ve been there. Everything feels like it’s happening at once, and you find yourself asking: “Lord, how much more can I take?”

But in Mark 5, something powerful happens.

The enemy announces its size…

And Jesus doesn’t even flinch.

Because numbers don’t intimidate Him.

Authority does not increase with quantity—it belongs fully to Christ.

Here’s the truth you need today:

Many against you does not mean greater than the One who is for you.

Stop measuring your future by your problems instead of your Savior.

1. STOP COUNTING ONLY PROBLEMS

Write down what’s weighing on you.

2. WRITE WHO JESUS IS

Beside it, list truths about Him:

• He is present

• He is faithful

• He has authority

• He loves me

• He is greater

3. PRAY FROM TRUTH

Talk to Jesus based on who He is—not just what you feel.

Closing Prayer

Jesus, when life feels overwhelming, keep me from being consumed by what I see. Remind me that numbers don’t intimidate You. Strengthen my trust in Your authority above everything else. Amen.
