DAY 2 — DON’T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU HEAR

“He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.”

Scriptural Thought

One of the enemy's greatest weapons isn't something dramatic.

It's a lie.

A lie about God.

A lie about you.

A lie about your future.

A lie about what happened to you.

And here's what makes deception dangerous:

A lie doesn't have to sound ridiculous to be effective. It just has to sound believable.

God doesn't really care.

You're never going to change.

You've messed up too badly.

Everybody else is doing better than you.

You might as well give up.

If God were really with you, you wouldn't be going through this.

Sometimes the battle you're fighting isn't over what's happening around you.

It's over what you're believing about what's happening around you.

Week 3 teaching reminds us that the enemy works through accusation and distortion, attempting to shake our confidence in God's character, promises, and gospel. Our response is to hold tightly to what is true about Christ even when our feelings or circumstances tell another story.

That's important because everything you think isn't automatically true.

Everything you feel isn't automatically true.

Everything whispered into your mind doesn't deserve agreement.

Sometimes you have to stop and ask:

“Does this agree with what God has said?”

Because you can't stop every thought from showing up.

But you don't have to give every thought a seat at your table.

Reflection

What thought have you repeatedly entertained lately that may not agree with God's Word?

Then ask:

What does God say that is true instead?

3-Step Application

1. CATCH THE LIE.

Write down one negative or destructive thought you've repeatedly believed.

2. CHECK THE LIE.

Ask: Does this agree with God's Word and God's character?

3. REPLACE THE LIE.

Find a Scripture that speaks truth to that specific thought. Read it aloud whenever the lie returns.

Closing Prayer

Father, help me recognize the lies I've allowed myself to believe. Give me discernment to separate truth from deception. When the enemy accuses me, remind me who I am in Christ. When my circumstances make me question You, remind me of Your character. Train my mind to recognize Your truth and reject anything that contradicts Your Word. In Jesus' name, amen.
