“I correct and discipline everyone I love. So be diligent and turn from your indifference.”

Scriptural Thought

The love of Jesus is comforting, but it is not passive.

His love accepts us, but it also confronts the things that are destroying us.

Jesus loves us too much to allow sin, bitterness, pride, unforgiveness, or unhealthy patterns to control our lives without challenging us to change.

Correction is not always rejection.

Sometimes correction is evidence that someone cares enough to tell us the truth.

Imagine going to a doctor because you are in pain. After examining you, the doctor discovers something serious but says nothing because they do not want to make you uncomfortable.

That would not be love.

Real love tells the truth because healing matters more than temporary comfort.

Jesus is not interested in embarrassing or condemning you. He wants to free you. When He puts His finger on an attitude, relationship, habit, or decision, it is not because He has stopped loving you.

It is because His love is reaching into the places that still need healing.

We often ask Jesus to change our circumstances while He is trying to change our hearts.

His love may confront how you speak to people. It may expose an unforgiving spirit. It may challenge your pride, selfishness, dishonesty, or unwillingness to apologize.

Do not resist His correction.

Let His love change you.

What has Jesus been confronting in your heart recently?

Have you interpreted His correction as rejection instead of love?

3-Step Application

1. Ask Jesus to search you.

Pray honestly: “Jesus, show me what needs to change.”

2. Name what He reveals.

Do not minimize it, blame someone else, or make excuses.

3. Take one obedient step.

Apologize, forgive, confess, change the habit, or establish the boundary Jesus is leading you to establish.

Closing Prayer

Jesus, thank You for loving me enough to tell me the truth. Give me a humble and teachable heart. Help me stop resisting the areas where You are calling me to grow. Confront whatever is keeping me from becoming more like You, and give me the courage to obey. In Your name, amen.
