DAY 2 — WALK IT OUT
Scripture Reading
2 John 1:4 NLT
“How happy I was to meet some of your children and find them living according to the truth, just as the Father commanded.”
Scriptural Thought
John was excited because he found believers living according to the truth.
Other translations describe them as “walking in truth.”
That word picture matters.
Walking isn't usually dramatic.
It's one step followed by another.
And another. And another.
That's how most spiritual growth happens.
We sometimes want one powerful moment with God to fix everything overnight.
But following Jesus normally looks much more ordinary.
You forgive again.
You pray again.
You tell the truth again.
You choose integrity again.
You open your Bible again.
You resist the temptation again.
You apologize again.
You show kindness again.
One step after another.
Imagine putting the destination into your GPS but refusing to follow the directions.
You could stare at the map.
Study the route.
Explain the route to somebody else.
Even memorize every turn.
But none of that gets you to the destination until you actually start moving.
Well, the Bible works the same way.
Scripture wasn't given simply so we could know the directions.
God gave us His Word so we could walk in them.
Walking in truth doesn't mean you'll never stumble.
It means when you stumble, you keep following Jesus.
Walking in truth is carrying your faith with you wherever you go rather than leaving it behind when circumstances change.
Your faith shouldn't stay at church.
Take it into the workplace.
Take it into the marriage.
Take it into the business.
Take it into the classroom.
Take it into the argument.
Take it into the decision.
Take it everywhere.
Reflection
Ask yourself, if someone followed me around for the next seven days, would my life demonstrate that I'm walking in the truth I say I believe?
Where am I most tempted to leave my faith behind?
3-Step Application
1. CHECK YOUR DIRECTION.
Ask yourself: Where are my current choices taking me?
2. CORRECT ONE STEP.
You don't have to fix everything today. Identify the next right step.
3. KEEP WALKING.
Don't allow one failure to become permission to quit.
Closing Prayer
Jesus, help me walk with You today. I don't want my faith to exist only in words. Let Your truth shape my decisions, relationships, priorities, and reactions. When I stumble, help me get back up and continue following You. Give me strength for the next right step. Amen.
Remember
Following Jesus isn't about one giant spiritual leap. It's about taking the next faithful step.
