Day 3 – Don’t Follow Your Heart

Reading: Jeremiah 17:9 & Proverbs 4:23

Scriptural Thought: Culture says, “Follow your heart. ”God says, 'Guard it.” Our feelings are real, but they’re not always right. Emotions were meant to be indicators, not leaders. They can tell you something’s going on, but they can’t always tell you what’s true.

Don’t follow your heart—lead it with the Word.

Reflection: Have your feelings ever led you into something you later regretted? How can truth lead your heart to move forward?

✅ 3-Step Application:

  1. Think of a recent decision driven mostly by emotion.

  2. Ask: What did God’s Word say about it?

  3. Commit to using scripture to filter your feelings this week.

Closing Prayer: Lord, my emotions are loud—but I want Your voice to be louder. I won’t let my feelings override my faith. Allow Your Spirit to lead me with truth. Direct my heart toward wisdom and peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
