Scripture Reading
Matthew 12:7 (NLT)
"I want you to show mercy, not offer sacrifices."
Scriptural Thought
Mercy isn't weakness.
Mercy is strength under control.
Anyone can seek revenge.
It takes the power of God to extend grace.
Jesus wasn't saying truth doesn't matter.
He was reminding the Pharisees that truth without compassion misses God's heart.
Sometimes we think we're standing for truth...
when we're actually protecting our pride.
Jesus perfectly balanced both.
He confronted sin.
He spoke truth boldly.
Yet He never stopped loving people.
As followers of Jesus, we're called to do the same.
Mercy doesn't ignore wrong.
Mercy simply refuses to let wrong determine who we become.
Reflection
Where is God inviting you to choose mercy instead of revenge?
3-Step Application
Pray for someone you've struggled to forgive.
Refuse to replay an old offense today.
Ask, "How would Jesus respond?" before reacting.
Closing Prayer
Jesus,Thank You for showing me mercy when I didn't deserve it. Help me extend that same mercy to others. Let my life reflect Your grace and Your truth together. Amen.

How do we believers confront sin without ignoring it, but to approach it with love and mercy as Jesus would do?
