Reading: Romans 12:14-16
Devotional: Hope in Christ empowers us to respond to difficult situations and people with grace. The Apostle Paul's instructions to bless those who persecute us and to rejoice with those who rejoice reflect the counter-cultural nature of Christian living. Think about a person or situation that's causing you distress. How can you apply these verses to that circumstance? Pray for the strength to respond with blessing instead of bitterness, and take a small step toward reconciliation or understanding.
Prayer: Merciful Father, thank You for the hope and strength I have in Jesus. Help me to respond to difficult situations and people with grace and blessing. When I face distress, empower me to bless those who persecute me and to rejoice with those who rejoice. Grant me the strength to overcome bitterness with blessing and to seek reconciliation and understanding. Guide me in taking small steps toward peace and harmony. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Daily Challenge: Think of a person or situation that's causing you distress and intentionally choose to bless them or respond with kindness, rather than holding bitterness or anger.
