DAY 3: The Danger of a Divided Love

Reading: James 1:8 (NLT) – “Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do.”
Devotional: When our hearts are pulled in different directions—part for God, part for the world—we experience instability. Divided loyalty robs us of peace and power. God never asks for part of you. He wants the whole thing: your head and heart, reason and emotion, knowledge and passion. That’s when faith becomes vibrant and stable.
Reflection:
In what ways are you trying to love God and the world?
What would it take to bring your full attention back to God?
3-Step Application:
Fast from something that divides your attention for 24 hours (social media, TV, etc.).
Spend 10 minutes in silent prayer asking God to expose double-mindedness. (Psalm 139:23-24)
Write down one area where you’ll recommit to full obedience this week.
Closing Prayer: Lord, I don’t want to love You halfway. Reveal the areas where my love is divided. Help me return to You with my whole heart and give You all of me, nothing held back. In Jesus' name, Amen.
