Day 5: Rejoicing in Our Identity

Writer's picture: Forward ChurchForward Church

Reading: 1 Peter 2:9-10, Ephesians 1:3-6

Devotional: As we conclude this week's devotional, let's focus on celebrating our identity in Christ. Today's reading reminds us of our status as God's chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation. We are blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ and adopted as God's children.

Take time today to rejoice in who you are in Christ. List the aspects of your identity in Him that you find most meaningful. How does this divine perspective contrast with the world's definition of identity and worth? Ask God to help you live from this place of security and joy, letting His love overflow into every aspect of your life.

As you go forward, remember that your true self is found not in being "true to yourself," but in being true to who God says you are in Christ. May this truth set you free and empower you to live a life that reflects His glory.

Practical Steps:

1. Make a list of three ways your identity in Christ impacts your outlook on life.

2. Share a testimony or a positive change in your life due to your identity in Christ with a friend or in a small group.

3. Spend the last few minutes of your day reflecting on Ephesians 1:3-6, praising God for adopting you into His family.

Prayer: Father, I rejoice in the truth of who I am in Christ. Thank You for making me Your child and showering me with spiritual blessings. In Jesus' name, Amen.
