Week 1 Day 1 — Count It

Read Scripture: James 1:2–3
Scripture Thought:
James tells us to count it all joy when we face trials, not because trials feel good, but because God uses them for good. Hard seasons are often the very places where God is building endurance, strength, and maturity in us. What feels painful may actually be part of God’s process of shaping us.
Reflection:
It is easy to ask, “Why is this happening to me?” But James teaches us to ask a better question: “What is God producing in me through this?” Trials are not always signs that God is far away. Sometimes they are signs that God is doing deep work in us. He is not wasting your pain. He is using it to grow your faith and strengthen your walk with Him.
3-Step Application:
1. Be honest about the trial. Name what feels heavy or difficult right now.
2. Shift your perspective. Ask God to help you see your struggle through His purpose.
3. Thank God in faith. Even before things change, thank Him for working through the process.
