Reading: James 1:2-4, Hebrews 12:1-3
Devotional: Life presents troubles that challenge our faith and perseverance. James reminds us to see trials as opportunities for joy, knowing that God is refining us like a blacksmith tempers steel. Similarly, Hebrews encourages us to run with endurance, fixing our eyes on Jesus. Like a marathon runner pushing past exhaustion, we must trust God’s process, even when the finish line is unseen.
Illustration: Imagine a sculptor chiseling away at a block of marble, refining it into a masterpiece. Likewise, trials shape us into the person God intends us to be.
Reflection Moment:
What trial/trouble can you begin to see as an opportunity for growth?
How can you focus on Jesus to endure hardships?
3-Step Application:
Write down one struggle and ask God to reveal His purpose in it.
Shift your perspective—replace negative thoughts with prayers of trust.
Encourage someone by sharing how God has worked in your past struggles.
Closing Prayer: Lord, help me see trials through Your eyes and give me the endurance to persevere. Strengthen my heart to trust Your refining process. Amen.
