DAY 1 – God Meets You at the Bottom

Reading:

Jonah 1:17 (NLT) Psalm 139:7–10 (NLT)

Scriptural Thought:

“And the LORD had arranged for a great fish to swallow Jonah.” — Jonah 1:17 (NLT)

Jonah thought he was falling away from God.But even in the fall, God had already made arrangements.

Reflection:

Sometimes what feels like punishment is actually provision.

The fish wasn’t Jonah’s prison — it was his rescue.Rock bottom wasn’t the end — it was the interruption.

Have you ever looked back and realized that what felt like the worst moment was actually God preventing something worse?

There is no depth where God’s presence cannot reach.

3-Step Application:

  1. Name your “belly” moment. What situation feels tight, dark, or uncomfortable right now?

  2. Shift your perspective.Instead of asking “Why is this happening?” ask, “What is God teaching me?”

  3. Thank God in the middle.Even before you see the outcome, thank Him for staying near.

Closing Prayer:

Father, thank You that there is no place I can go where You are not present. Even when I feel trapped or overwhelmed, remind me that You are working. Help me trust that You are rescuing me, not abandoning me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
