Reading:
Jonah 2:7–9 (NLT)
Scriptural Thought:
“For my salvation comes from the LORD alone.” — Jonah 2:9 (NLT)
Jonah realized something in the dark that he had forgotten in the daylight:
He could not save himself.
Reflection:
We try to fix our own mess.
We try to outwork our mistakes.
We try to manage our image.
But salvation — rescue, restoration, redemption — comes from the Lord alone.
Rock bottom strips us of pride. And sometimes that’s exactly what we need.
What are you still trying to fix on your own?
3-Step Application:
Release control. Identify one thing you’ve been trying to handle without God.
Confess dependence. Say out loud: “Lord, I need You.”
Choose trust over panic. Replace anxious thoughts with Scripture.
Closing Prayer:
God, I confess that I try to save myself. Forgive me for depending on my strength instead of Yours. I trust You as my rescuer. Salvation comes from You alone. Amen.
