DAY 3 — RESIST & STAND
Scripture Reading
1 Peter 5:9 NLT
“Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith.”
Scriptural Thought
Notice what Peter tells believers to do when the enemy attacks:
Stand firm.
He doesn't tell them to develop some complicated spiritual warfare formula.
He doesn't tell them to obsess over the devil.
He tells them to stand firm in their faith.
Sometimes resistance looks less dramatic than we imagine.
Resistance can look like:
I'm still praying.
I'm still worshiping.
I'm still trusting God.
I'm still obeying His Word.
I'm still showing up.
I'm not going back.
That's resistance.
There will be moments when what you feel and what you know collide.
You may feel abandoned while knowing God promised never to leave you.
You may feel hopeless while knowing God still has a purpose.
You may feel condemned while knowing there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ.
You may feel defeated while knowing Jesus has already won the ultimate victory.
In those moments, faith says:
“My feelings are real, but they don't get the final word. God's Word does.”
The enemy doesn't need you to stop believing everything about God.
Sometimes he just needs you to loosen your grip on one truth long enough to move you away from obedience.
So hold on.
When you don't understand—stand.
When you're tired—stand.
When you're tempted—stand.
When circumstances don't make sense—stand.
You're not standing because you're strong enough.
You're standing because the One you're trusting is.
Reflection
Where is your faith being challenged right now?
What would standing firm actually look like in that situation today?
3-Step Application
1. NAME THE BATTLE.
Identify the area where you're feeling the most spiritual pressure.
2. FIND YOUR TRUTH.
Find one promise or truth from Scripture that speaks directly to that situation.
3. STAND ON IT.
Before reacting emotionally today, stop and say: “What do I know to be true about God right now?”
Then respond from that truth.
Closing Prayer
Jesus, help me stand firm. When circumstances challenge my faith, remind me of what I know to be true about You. When I'm tempted to quit, strengthen me. When the enemy tries to move me through fear, accusation, or discouragement, help me resist by holding firmly to Your Word. My confidence isn't in my strength—it's in Yours. In Jesus' name, amen.
