DAY 5 — LOOK AGAIN

Scripture Reading

Romans 8:31 NLT

“If God is for us, who can ever be against us?”

Scriptural Thought

The servant looked once and saw defeat.

Then God opened his eyes.

And he looked again.

That's the challenge as we finish this week: Look again.

Look at the marriage again.

Look at your children again.

Look at your future again.

Look at the financial situation again.

Look at the challenge at work again.

Look at the season you're in again.

But this time, don't look at it without God.

The enemy wants you to evaluate everything while leaving God out of the equation.

Because if you leave God out, the numbers may not look good.

The servant probably counted:

Their soldiers.

Their horses.

Their chariots.

And then himself and Elisha.

Two against an army.

That math will create fear every time.

But Elisha knew there was more to count.

God was there.

What changes when you put God back into the equation?

Maybe the problem is still big.

But God is bigger.

Maybe you still don't have every answer.

But God is still present.

Maybe the battle isn't over.

But you're not fighting for God's attention.

You're fighting while standing in His presence.

So this week, whenever fear tells you:

“Look at what's happening.”

Answer it:

“I'm looking—but I'm also looking to God.”

Because what you see isn't all there is.

How has my perspective changed this week?

Where do I need to “look again” and include God in how I am interpreting what's happening?

3-Step Application

1. Look Again.

Return to the situation you identified on Day 1.

2. Ask Again.

Pray: “Lord, open my eyes. Help me see this through faith instead of fear.”

3. Declare Truth.

Say aloud: “What I see is not all there is. God is with me. God is for me. And I will trust Him with what I cannot see.”

Closing Prayer

Father, thank You for reminding me that the visible world is not the whole story. Open my eyes when fear narrows my perspective. Help me recognize Your presence, trust Your Word, and walk by faith. When I feel surrounded, remind me that You are with me. When I don't understand what You're doing, help me trust who You are. I choose faith over fear and Your truth over what my circumstances are telling me. In Jesus’ name, amen.

ONE FINAL WORD FOR THE WEEK

You don't have to pretend the battle isn't real.

You don't have to pretend the circumstances aren't difficult.

And you don't have to pretend you're never afraid.

But before you decide that what you're facing is bigger than you can handle, look again.

There is more happening than you can see.

God is present.

God is working.

God is faithful.

And sometimes your greatest prayer isn't: “God, change what's around me.”

Sometimes it's: “God, open my eyes so I can see You in the middle of it.”

What you see isn't all there is.
