DAY 1 — STOP LOOKING FOR THE EXIT

Ecclesiastes 3:1–11

Think About It

When we don't like the season we're in, one of our first instincts is to look for the exit.

God, change this. Fix this. Open another door. Get me out of here.

But what if we're so focused on getting out of the season that we're missing what God wants us to get out of the season?

Not every uncomfortable season is a wasted season.

Sometimes God is developing things in us that comfort never could.

Patience. Wisdom. Discipline. Discernment. Courage. Dependence on Him.

You may not understand everything happening around you right now, but you can still ask God what He wants to develop within you.

Don't rush so quickly toward what's next that you miss what God is doing now.

Ask Yourself

What am I asking God to change that He may be using to change me?

Pray

Father, help me stop fighting this season long enough to hear You in it. Show me what You're developing in me. Give me patience when I want immediate answers and wisdom to recognize what You're doing beneath the surface. I don't want to simply get through this season. I want to grow through it. In Jesus' name, amen.

Carry This With You Today

"Don't be so focused on getting out of the season that you miss what God is trying to get into you through the season."
