DAY 4 — ROOTS BEFORE FRUIT
Read
John 15:1–5
Think About It
Growth takes time.
You don't plant something on Monday and get frustrated on Tuesday because you don't see fruit.
Why?
Because you understand something is happening beneath the surface.
"Roots grow before fruit shows up."
The same can be true spiritually.
You may feel like nothing is happening.
The opportunity hasn't come.
The situation hasn't changed.
The answer hasn't arrived.
But that doesn't mean God isn't working.
He may be developing character before opportunity.
Discipline before increase.
Wisdom before influence.
Patience before promise.
And dependence on Him before whatever comes next.
Jesus reminds us that apart from Him, we can do nothing.
God isn't developing you so you won't need Him.
He's teaching you to depend on Him properly instead of expecting people, money, titles, relationships, approval, or opportunities to carry a weight only Jesus can carry.
Don't rush development.
There may be roots growing that you can't see yet.
Ask Yourself
What could God be developing beneath the surface of my life right now?
Pray
Jesus, teach me to remain connected to You. Forgive me for depending on people and things to give me what only You can provide. When I can't see progress, help me trust that You are still working. Develop my character, discipline, wisdom, patience, and dependence on You. In Jesus' name, amen.
Carry This Today
"Just because you can't see anything happening doesn't mean nothing is happening."
